2012 Newspaper Symposium
This year's was held February 10 & 11, 2012 at the Coast Terrace Plaza in Calgary
Notes from the chair:
The recent AWNA Symposium was a great opportunity to improve our skills and socialize with our peers. Some of the industry's best minds shared with delegates their knowledge and tips to improve community newspapers.
We had a first rate line up of presenters to help us keep up with technological changes and refresh the skills we use on the job every day. I think we came away from the weekend prepared to do a better job for our newspaper, our business clients and our communities.
The AWNA Symposium was made possible with the financial support of ATCO Gas and ATCO Electric, Cenovus, the Fire Commissioner's Office and the Energy Resources Conservation Board.
Keynote speaker Deirdre McMurdy reminded us how vital we are are to our communities.
Thanks to Walter Nagel and his crew from SAIT who looked after the judging for our photo awards. It's not an easy task and we appreciate the thorough job they do to help us recognize the excellent work of our photographers in capturing images that describe life in our communities.
Thanks Congratulations to the winners in the ATCO GAS Photographic Awards and Fire Prevention Week contests.
