Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association (AWNA) provides an active press release service on a Members’ Only FTP site for local and provincial government departments, political candidates, organizations, colleges, companies and individuals.

Releases run the gamut from announcements on contest winners, upcoming events, safety & health notices, court rulings and environmental issues to donations, company mergers, responses to current events, livestock health and grass roots promotions on items such as books. Contact information regarding services provided, fees and requirements for having items placed on the FTP site are detailed below.

Press Release Service

Service 1

Hard copy distribution of one release (up to two pages) to AWNA member newspapers and electronic posting on the association's FTP site under the general press release category.

Fee: $125.00 plus GST payable prior to posting
What's required?
Client needs to send 114 hard copies of their press release to:

Service 2

Unlimited press release folders are a popular option due to their value and visibility. Clients are provided with a unique folder on the FTP site under press releases. Press releases submitted are placed on the FTP site as they are received for a monthly flat fee.

Fee: $69.00 plus GST per month payable prior to posting
What's required?
The press release needs to be emailed in a text file or Word document to: pressreleases@awna.com.

Service 3

One-time electronic posting, under the general press release category, works well for clients who want to have two or fewer items per month placed on the FTP site.

Fee: $30.00 plus GST each payable prior to posting
